Knowledge

Definition

Facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical practical understanding of a subject.

Description

All of our beliefs are interconnected and define what we know, so by examining what we believe by forming arguments, using both logic and justification, we can reach a useful understanding about ourselves and the world around us.

Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness, or understanding of someone or something, such as facts (descriptive knowledge), skills (procedural knowledge), or objects (acquaintance knowledge). By most accounts, knowledge can be acquired in many different ways and from many sources, including but not limited to perception, reason, memory, testimony, scientific inquiry, education, and practice. The philosophical study of knowledge is called epistemology.

Most generally, "knowledge" is a familiarity, awareness, or understanding of someone or something, which might include facts (propositional knowledge), skills (procedural knowledge), or objects (acquaintance knowledge).
